I would strongly recommend the piece as a teaching tool, especially as the melody/bass line is so well-known to most students of serious music.  Good, but there are some issues by David on March 2008Overall, it's a pretty nice transcription, but there are some sections in the original where the piano accompaniment has some solo sections, which have been virtually cut out of this version. When performing this, I just add those sections anyway, but I think they should have stayed more true to the original.
the perfect key by Michael Y on April 2007This version is in "C", starts low on the cello, then goes up an octave in the repeat. Never goes above fourth position, and pretty easy to play over all. There are no suggested fingerings, but it's pretty easy to figure them out on your own. It could use a separate piano score though because the complete score is around 8 pages (cello score is 1 page).
